Earth's largest family entertainment empire was, not surprisingly, involved in the PC gaming industry from the beginning. Disney has published many excellent action games based on its popular cartoon characters such as Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse, although it also granted these licenses to other game companies from time to time. Disney's in-house PC games division Disney Interactive had its heyday in early 1990s, with outstanding games that range from platform Aladdin and The Lion King, and games not based on Disney characters such as Coaster and Stunt Island.
