A true pioneer in hard-core wargaming and one of the oldest game companies, Interstel was so famous for Star Fleet games that its name was virtually synonymous with complex and highly replayable strategic wargames. Interstel was founded by Star Fleet creator Dr. Trevor Sorensen in 1986. It was actually a name change-- Sorensen had earlier founded Cygnus in 1982 to publish the IBM and PCjr versions of Star Fleet 1 and produce new games. Interstel went on to develop several more outstanding games, including Star Fleet sequels Star Fleet II and Star Legions (published by Mindcraft). The company also published several works by small but qualified game developers, such as Event Horizon (later Dreamforge Intertainment). Related companies: Mindcraft, Event Horizon
Related companies: Mindcraft Event Horizon
