Game #5271
Chess 88
Strategy   Board - Western

Chess 88 screenshot
A very simple black and white (pardon the pun) chess game with 6 difficulty levels. The computer opponent is decent enough, and you can choose whether to play white or black. It's nothing spectacular, however, and the real challenge lies more in keeping an interest in the game long enough to want to win than in the difficulty of the computer player. I also haven't seen any huge difference between levels 1 and 6 (if you can beat level 1, chances are you'll beat level).

I found no credit screen in the game (it only gives the name of the person who wrote the game upon startup), but its name seems to indicate it was made in 1988.
